Book Review // No Exit

Rating: 4.5/5

Synopsis:
"Darby Thorne is a college student stranded by a blizzard at a highway rest stop in the middle of nowhere. She’s on the way home to see her sick mother. She’ll have to spend the night in the rest stop with four complete strangers. Then she stumbles across a little girl locked inside one of their parked cars.

There is no cell phone reception, no telephone, no way out because of the snow, and she doesn’t know which one of the other travelers is the kidnapper.

Full of shocking twists and turns, this beautifully written novel will have you on the edge of your seat.

Who is the little girl? Why has she been taken? And how can Darby save her?" (amazon.com)

Review:
YOU GUYS. If you’re needing a super addictive, face-paced thriller that could easily be read in an afternoon, this might be the book for you. No Exit was the perfect amount of everything for me. Not too gory, limited bad language, no sex, the right amount of crazy, and a super bad-a female lead? INGENIOUS.

Once I broke the 50 page threshold, I could not put this book down!! I carried it everywhere with me the entire day. And thank goodness it was a Friday, because I felt zero mom-guilt putting on an afternoon movie for my kids.

I don’t want to give away too much, so I’ll leave you with the summary below. No Exit was like watching a suspenseful horror movie that did not give up until the very last word. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book that delivers at such a high speed. Every twist and turn was perfectly executed.

When I did the poll in my Instagram stories, 90% who weighed in hadn’t read No Exit yet, so here is your push! And I need a full report when you finish.

Review
If you’re looking for a page-turning contemporary romance novel that has more depth than the average romance novel, One True Loves needs to be your next book.

TRJ might be my new fav author in this genre. She is able to write characters so deeply, clearly, and beautifully. You FEEL what they feel. You can almost anticipate their next move because of the reader-character connection you’ve built up.

I was completely caught up in these stories. Emma and her new found love with Sam after losing her husband. The grieving was so hard to read. My heart was so broken for her. But then Jesse coming back, and the love they shared and the desire to pick it back up where they left off all those years ago. You want to everyone to be happy but you know someone will be heartbroken in the end.

**Moderate language and a few sex scenes without graphic text.
