It wasn't until 2016 when my 3rd child turned a year when I felt this itch to start reading again. I made a goal to read 3 books a month. That felt reachable, but often times, it still felt impossible. I joined a local book club and I knew that the women in that group would help motivate me to reach my goal. I couldn't believe how fast 3 books a month turned into 5, and then 8, and sometimes even 15 books in a month!
I started my Instagram account (@meagansbookclub) in 2017 to simply record the books I read for my own journaling purposes. I had zero clue something called "Bookstagram" even existed. If you're late to the party, Bookstagram is a little community within Instagram where fellow book lovers share book reviews, conduct book discussions, and post book pictures. I had roughly 300 followers at the start of 2019. I really didn't know anything about this Book World. In February of 2019, a friend and along with my husband urged me to make this Instagram page something more. By the end of 2019, I reached over 11,000 followers. And at the end of 2022, I had 33,000 followers. I still can't believe it myself. The Bookstagram community is an incredible place to belong to and I am honored to be surrounded by such phenomenal people who share my love of reading.
Outside of books, I am a stay at home mom to 4 and wife of a real estate attorney. We just recently moved to Denver, Colorado and we are loving getting to know our new area. We are a very busy family and I am left with very little time to myself each day. So you might ask, how do you read so many books as a stay at home mom?? I prioritize. I put aside my phone and keep the tv turned off. I keep a book with me at all times. I make goals to allow for more reading time during the day. Some days, I don't pick up a book at all! But I have made it a priority over the past 4 years and it has blessed my life exponentially!
I am so happy you are here!

So glad I found out about you on IG. I just finished perusing your website. Great reviews. I just started patronizing a local new/used bookstore. The ladies are SO well read & know about new authors and smaller publishers. They introduced me to a foundation that Pat Conroy (best known as author of Prince of Tides that was made into a movie) started to publish new authors. The bookstore ladies recommended one of those called: One Good Mama Bone by Bren McClain. Through my conversation at the bookstore, I realized I need to start reading Pat Conroy books! He passed away recently. Another lady at the bookstore recommended “Call Your Daughter Home” by Debra Spera. I loved both of these books. My favorite genre is historical fiction. The Mama Bone book was set in 1950’s South Carolina. The other was set in 1920’s South Carolina. I also enjoy Beatriz Williams historical fiction novels. You’re still reading for pleasure, but also learning some history & culture too. I attended a book signing there for Lynn Cullen who wrote adult historical fiction plus children books. Her presentation at the bookstore was fabulous! I bought & had her sign her most recent, The Sisters of Summit Avenue. I have her other books on my “want to read” list to checkout from the library.
